What’s In Your Purse? – A Daunting Question About The Contents Of A Lady’s Purse.

My favourite purse/bag quotes have to be the ones by Kate Spade ( God rest her soul), one of which is;

“I’ve never been a millionaire, but I just know I’d be darling at it.”

They say the contents of a lady’s purse or bag speaks volume about her personality and what she does for a living. Cosmopolitan once said in respect to Kate Spade’s designs;

“Those purses were talisman of the possibility that, one day, we might be the person they made us feel like we were.”

Do you agree that your purses and bags are talisman of the woman/man you would really love to be?

The contents of my purse depends on the day/time of the week and most importantly my destination… So I decided to pick at random, today on a very casual outing to show you what is in my purse.

Quickie: Like most ladies, I usually carry a lot of things in my purse, which I mostly never end up needing or using, but for the purpose of curating this post as short as possible I’ll mention only a few.

What’s In My Purse Today?

Well, I am just going out to the beach-house for a tropical rave party with the girls ( Ashley, Pearl & Vivian) at the boatclub,

and I have chosen to attend this “makeup free” to allow my face breathe and just so I can enjoy the cool breeze blowing from the water giving me kisses of chill.

Now, hanging out with the girls doesn’t always end up in one spot and seeing that it is a Saturday, they might wanna move the party elsewhere hence the motive behind most of the contents in my purse.

Sunglasses

This is one staple i believe should be found in every lady’s purse especially if you live in the Tropics and you are going to be out early in the day. The sun here can be really penetrating.

Plus they are such fashion go-to statement pieces.

Loose powder And Mascara

I have an oily face, hence Zaron oil control loose powder and having this makes it easier for me to wash my face, and apply it lightly on my forehead and basically around my tzone to make my face look a little bit alive and then I blend it in with my mac powder, and finish it off with a dash of Estee Lauder mascara. It’s a trick that makes you appear like you are actually really good with doing your own makeup.

Mac Ruby woo Lipstick

This is one lippie that goes everywhere with me in all my purses and bags because, this is my signature look and can easily transform my face from bare to sophisticated even without a facebeat.

A Pair of dazzling statement earrings

Earrings can take a simple look and make you look edgy and chic depending on the details of the pair.

A set of Shop.tti midi rings

Midi rings because;

Accessories are what, in my opinion, pull the whole look together and make it unique – YSL

A Tester bottle of your fragrance

All the other items are very important but this is more “importanter” as my Nigerian influencers would say to lay more emphasis on something. Now here’s why a tester of your fragrance is important; you’ve been out for some hours and of course by now some sweats must be breaking up in some particular areas we don’t need to mention, all you need to do is visit the restroom, wipe your armpits with some water and dry up with paper towels by gently dabbing it on, to avoid sticking, while your armpits are still moist, get fresh paper towels, add some drops on it and dab gently on your under arm, apply some behind your ears and on your wrist and you are good to go smelling all freshened up.

Quickie: Note, this can be less messy and easier to achieve if you always have a hand towel on you.

Business Card

Besides the fact that most people go out just to blow off steam or take the edge off, for some single ladies, gents and influencers, going out means much more; – networking. Your next client could be anywhere.

Hey! he/she could be enjoying a meal, sharing the same table with you right now. Having a business card makes it much easier and elegant exchanging contacts rather than verbally calling out numbers, (stuff like that makes me cringe) or suppose both your phones are dead, then what?

Lastly, A Pen.

Always have a pen in your purse, always.

Quickie; If you liked the accessories in this post and would like to know where you can shop yours at extremely affordable prices, you can get them here (Shop.tti).

It’s always a pleasure engaging with you, so it would be nice to know what you carry in your purses and why, please feel free to share this with me in the comment section.

Thank you for sticking by till the end.

  1. I don’t carry purses, I carry handbags . The load I cart around can definitely not fit into any purse haha – I feel naked when I carry small bags or no bags at all. My essentials would definitely be money, a pen, power bank, and a hand fan because Abuja is not playing. I wish I could carry around a little perfume, I’m sweating profusely when I get to my destination sometimes and feeling oh so unfresh – thank you for the tips!

  2. My bag always has my wallet, Vaseline or lip balm cos it’s harmattan, possible a bottle of water to keep hydrated, my phones and chewing gum to keep my breath fresh.

    Love your business card by the way.

  3. Loved this post. It got me thinking about the contents of mine. It’s usually lotion in a little tub- because dry skin can be a b**ch. Also carry a note pad and pen, spare earrings because some days I run out of the house without any, then my cards- id’s to atm cards and all. Wipes or tissue paper. That’s all

    1. You basically mentioned the contents of my bag, most days when I carry one, about the spare earrings, that’s why I have a stud on always, you know those ones “mai kwali” sells for N250 (this what those hoarders that sell jewelry in a small showcase from streets to streets are called – “Mai kwali”) you totally need one of those.

      1. Mostly for me, I just carry my earphone, chargers, Mifi, powder, a lip balm and my handkerchief and my wallet. These are my go to purse essentials.
