Arkcity Cafe

Hello my darlings, how have you been coping with life and its daily struggles? For me the struggle has been insanely frustrating and destabilizing, If this is how it has felt for you in the past week, then we both need to draw consolation from this advice;

“Focus on the good and the blessings, learn from the lessons and try to live it One Day At A Time”

Quickie: We should totally try to remember these words “Live It One Day At A Time” as often as possible when the anxieties of life hit us every now and then.

Nevertheless, enough of the sulking! Let me share some reviews from one of those days life smiled at me and the hustle was so good it paid!

Arkcity Cafe

Arkcity Cafe is a translucent type of cafe run in such a way that it’s the perfect spot for a decent breakfast,

brunch,

and dinner. At night, it lights up in away it will have you feeling like you are in a different time. The lounge is fully activated with its elite clientele flaunting their luxurious buoyancy through gourmet meals, topnotch cognacs, fine spirits and cocktails, complemented by skillfully prepared shakes, mocktails of various set options; expressively for those who do not indulge in alcoholic beverages. So Arkcity Cafe has something for everyone.

Scene.

Located on number 3 Atoshi Close,

Old G.R.A., Makurdi, Benue State Nigeria.

Opening Hours

Mondays – Thursdays

9:00am – 11:30pm

Fridays – Sundays

9:00am – 2:00am

The cafe is run in a way it is almost like a 24/7 schedule.

First Impression

I’d been in there earlier in the day to enjoy their Caesar salad

which I had for brunch with the signature strawberry shake…

hmmm it was so yummy, the guilty pleasure was totally worth every sip.

The ambiance was so uplifting that for a moment I felt like I was on vacation, visiting a really nice restaurant in a big city.

Cost of brunch

My meal amounted to five thousand, two hundred naira only (#5, 200. 00k that’s about $15 at #355/ $).

I sat there enjoying the simple things of life in such luxurious manner, later joined by the host treating me with such specialiaty, swirling me the protocol I’d earned in her opinion, and I inturn serving her the due accolades she deserved. Her complements were rich in its genuity, most importantly in the way she appreciated and showed respect for my work, such feedback is part of the reason I started this blog in the first place, I wasn’t going to leave without sharing my secret tips and tools that can help any business grow as my own sign of appreciation of her value towards me.

Quickie; This tip is not for bloggers only to observe, it’s most importantly for you my darlings who care enough to be decent human beings. “always leave a good piece of yourself with people; a piece, no matter how small it may seem that can improve their lives, business, mind et al in such positive way they are glad to have met you, done business or spent their time with you.

My good deed was of course rewarded with a lovely dinner; dinner I got to share with the girls. Besides the fact that this was a promotional giveaway review.

Incase you are unaware,

@msjlifestyle has been giving promotional giveaway reviews which will last from the month of January 2019, through to the ending of March 2019.

Dinner With The Girls

It was 9:00pm and I pulled in with the girls all dolled up and me of course in my vinyl/latex/leather obsession strapped in a peach piece from Houseofcb

and the girls no doubt didn’t fail to represent, three unique ladies oozing such confidence with large appetites lol.

Dinning Experience

The dinning experience was exquisite.

starter

For appetizers, we had spring rolls and samosas with spicy hot dipping sauce.

Entreé

Choiced with the house special fried rice accompanied by seafood sauce was our befitting entreé, the serving for one on the platter choice is enough to reasonably feed 3-4 mouths, but when you have bowels like that of me and my companions,

3mouths will be fully fed, And two mouths of course were overfed because Michelle is totally not a large eater.

We were so full, there was no room for desserts…(Mostly Anna and I, even though Michelle kept saying she’s full too,*rolls eyes* i’m still here wondering what she ate).

I oredered shots as DIGESTIV as bobo would call it, we shared good laughs, enjoyed each other’s company, took many pictures and called it a night.

Pros

  • It is easily accessible as it is just by the road on Atoshi close.
  • My favourite keep is the fact that you can literally see the Chefs making your meal and admire the passion and zeal with which it’s being made. As you can see in this my instagram Photo.
  • The serving per head is considerably hefty.

Cons

  • Due to the intended exclusivity; it’s not a place one can readily afford on the go on a day to day basis.
  • The main lounge with its diners is visibly noticeable by any and everyone who walks in, I guess this is why the VIP is available for those who value “public privacy”

Ratings

I’d say it’s a 3.5star cafe/lounge as the food was very impressive, services was prompto and its milieu is incredible.

Overrall , it is a beautiful establishment run with class, truly a representation of its owner; Mrs Fayum…

About Mrs Fayum

Mrs Fayum Hanmation is a young mother with a law degree and her huge passion for food and hospitality business triggered by the experience/exposure of extensive travels influenced her will and decision to build an establishment such as Arkcitycafe in her hometown, Benue State – Nigeria.

“I wanted to create something different and unique that I loved which would also be an avenue creating employment for the youths in my hometown… this is my own little way of impacting on my society, which is why I am actively involved in the training of all my staffs. And hopefully, one day when they are ready, they can go out there and create something of their own as well

As she went on explaining the goals and vision for Arkcity Cafe on a larger scale, No doubt how successful this project will be, you could tell this from the way her burning passion lit up her face in such a way that anyone else who saw her describe the trainings and extensive research she had undergone (including being privately trained as a chef) to create this masterpiece, could tell that this isn’t just business to her, rather it is a representation of her passions and love for expressing her skills.

Her pathing note, is to all entrepreneurs and any who intend to start a business of such likeness.

“It doesn’t have to be so big, start with what you have but make sure you have passion and knowledge for what you’re delving into, not because you have the money or see alot of people doing it. Be equipped with the proper mindset coefficiently with hardwork, package it; and watch it grow.”

She ended the note with a broad smile and more appreciation for yours truly.

Quickie; The largest source of Benue’s Economy is predominantly Agriculture at about 70%, with “politics” and recreational centres, even though it is a state very rich in natural/mineral resources, most of it is yet to be exploited.

Would you want to learn more about Benue State?

So, if you are ever in Makurdi, looking for a place to enjoy fine dinning, Arkcity Cafe should be your bull’s eye.

  4. For a start; the first picture is everything 🖤🖤🤗.
I was glued to the end of it. I love the place already also. I don’t do VIP exactly and of there isn’t any noise, I don’t mind having a meal in the main lounge really. I want to go there already!. Your review was good and the place seems hospitable.

The owner is such a lovely person (it’s so clear) her passion is so great and because you could hardly find people like that right now, I pray God bless her and the business. Her advice was good too. I would rate your review 10-10 because I want to go there! And the pictures where great. Please they were 👏 🔥
